A Midsummer Night's Dream
Directed by R. Kevin Garcia Doyle

In this fast-paced and imaginative touring production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, the focus is on a group of comic players who are getting a play ready for a Duke’s wedding and the magical hijinks that threaten to derail the performance!  Colorful fairies and air-headed lovers disrupt their rehearsals and their lead actor is magically transformed into a donkey!  Will they be able to get the show together in time?

The Cast
Bottom (Pyramus), Demetrius:  Nicholas Atiburcio
Oberon, Lysander, Flute (Thisbe):  Moses Goods
Puck, Hermia, Snug (Lion):  Kyle Scholl
Titania, Helena, Quince (Wall):  Lacey Perrine Chu

School Shows
A Midsummer Night’s Dream will tour to schools from Apr 6 – May 1.

To facilitate touring, the play has been edited down to run about 50 minutes, and will be performed by a cast of four experienced actors playing multiple roles.  The production is designed to be as flexible as possible to suit a variety of venues, and can be performed for a single classroom, or for much larger groups of students.

The show makes use of minimal costumes, props, and set, putting the emphasis instead on the magic of Shakespeare’s language and the comedy of his characters.

Pricing
The cost of a single performance is $250.

For multiple performances at the same school, we offer a discounted rate of $200 per show.

The Concept
In this version of the play, Macbeth is challenged/haunted by the witches who try to tempt him into darkness and despair, ultimately succeeding in his final fight with Macduff.  Macbeth is on stage the entire time.

The witches are on stage most of the time and fluidly transition between being witches and other characters with minimal costume changes and in full view of the audience (there will also be a witch physicality that will help distinguish the witches from the other characters).
