AThe goal of the program is to provide students with engaging,
challenging and inspiring productions of Shakespeare's plays,
and to allow them to experience the excitement of live
theatre. The inaugural production, Romeo and Juliet,
toured to 17 middle and high schools in March 2014, playing to
over 4,000 students in grades 6-12.

School Shows
A Midsummer Night’s Dream will
tour to schools from Apr 6 – May 1.
To facilitate touring, the play has been edited down to run

experienced actors playing multiple roles. The production is
designed to be as flexible as possible to suit a variety of
venues, and can be performed for a single classroom, or for
much larger groups of students.
The show makes use of minimal costumes, props, and set,
putting the emphasis instead on the magic of Shakespeare’s
language and the comedy of his characters.

The Concept
In this
version of the play, Macbeth is challenged/haunted by the
witches who try to tempt him into darkness and despair,
ultimately succeeding in his final fight with Macduff.
Macbeth is on stage the entire time.
The witches are on stage most of the time and fluidly
transition between being witches and other characters with
minimal costume changes and in full view of the audience
(there will also be a witch physicality that will help
distinguish the witches from the other characters).
