We believe the best way to appreciate Shakespeare is to get involved in a production—as an actor, designer or volunteer— dive deep into the language and commit passages to memory.
The second best way to appreciate Shakespeare is to see his work performed live as an audience member. (Shakespeare was always meant to be heard, not read.)
Every year we cast folks who are brand new to Shakespeare’s work (and sometimes brand new to theater), including talented high school students. Auditions are held at multiple locations on Oahu in March or April and video auditions are welcome.
Note: acting positions are unpaid (not even a stipend). We are a small, volunteer company. We do accept video auditions from mainland actors but typically returning college students or those who already have connections (and a place to stay) on the island.

We typically perform three, full-length plays each summer in July and August and occasional Shakespeare-related works in the off-season (e.g. Shakespeare’s Birthday).

Looking to help out on a show for a few hours or a few days? We need volunteers for ushering, set construction, costume construction, light hang, board operators or any way you think you can help.

We are always looking for talented Set, Light, and Costume Designers, and often in need of Hair and Makeup, Video and Projection Designers, as well as Fight and Dance Choreographers Intimacy Directors and Stage Managers. These are paid positions.
Note: they are not well-paid positions, and if you’re not local, the pay won’t be worth the trip. But if you have friends/family on the island, and you’re looking for an excuse to visit Hawai‘i, then by all means, contact us.
